7-pin.... qiring question

When I looked at the 7-pin (plus 4 pin) connector it had the big bracket and two cables with connectors coming from the plugs.

Is that right? Two cables?

I currently have a 4-pin connector... so I assume one of the cables plugs into there. Where does the other one go?

Question

maybe I don't understand what you are asking but...

When you tow a trailer, it may use a 4 pin connector OR a 7 pin connector.

A trailer would not use both.

right right right...

but the ford tow-packate trailer wiring harness... its got both on it. a 7-pin and a 4-pin

coming off of the back, it has the socket to plug into the trucks above the spare tire. but it also has this other connector coming off of it... where it goes, i don't know

ok, I see now. That is different from my 1999. I only have the one set-up for the 7 pin and a converter that plugs into the 7 pin plug to make it a 4 pin.

You must have a 'newer' setup.

Unhappy other connector?

I have the 4 pin and I know what you are referring to. It's another plug connector near the point at which the 4 pin set up plugs into the wiring harness along the frame. I have no idea what the other connector is for. I posted a question a while back but no one ever responded. Let me know if you find out.
