7-pin harness on bumper?

7-pin harness on bumper?
I went to my ford delaership today to pick up a 7-pin wire harness for my '97 F150. All they had was a harness that bolted onto the trailer hitch, not the bumper. And since I don't have the ford hitch, I don't have the hole for it to bolt into.
I went out and looked at the trucks... sure enough, all the F150s had the harness bolted onto the hitch. But the F350s had it bolted onto the bumper. I asked if I could get that one, but they said that the F-350 harness is different from the F-150 (wires hook up different).
Any ideas? Suggestions?

Well, you probably already know that you DON'T want to just drill a hole to screw it into the hitch. You'll have to rig up some sort of bracket that is either welded or clamped to the hitch or to the bumper. You can pick up steel plate from Home Depot and the like. Bend it up as needed and then bolt it all up.

LOL, Yeah, I originally thought he was trying to add the 7 pin, but had no hitch at all..... Then I posted and re-read it. Well, he just said he didn't have the "Ford" hitch. I was hoping I edited it soon enough to sneak it in before anyone else saw it.
Leave it to YOU, to have already read it..........
