As per the manual--if the truck is not constantly shifting in and out of overdrive, you will not do any harm to the transmission pulling in overdrive

I just checked my owner's manual and it doesn't say anything about whether to haul with the overdrive on OR off. Don't know where I heard that you should tow with it off? Maybe it doesn't really matter?

According to the manual, with my engine, axle ratio, weight distribution hitch system, etc. I should be able to handle up to 8000 lbs with no problem. My hitch dealer says I am good up to 10000 but I certainly will not ever test that out!

Towed the horse and trailer this week and no light! THANKS for all your helpful suggestions. At least I have some things I can ask the dealer to check when we finally DO get it in with the light on.
