Could use some input...

I currently own a lowered 4x4 Lincoln Mark Lt with a 5.4 3v with 90k miles. .. It's my Dailey driver and use it to tow my 30 foot boat in the summer. My dilemma is. .. Do I add long tubes, intake, programmer, etc and hope it gets enough gains to make it work better or should i sell truck and do some modding to a ecoboost ? My truck hates my boat in the hills ! Thank you

You also have the 4 spd transmission.

Going to 6 spd, plus boost would be a big change.

My 5.0 pulls pretty well in stock form, even heavier loads, but most of Texas is pretty flat, we have hills but nothing significant or steep

My stock Eco would probably tow that boat up 5% grades in 4th gear pulling around 2500 rpms going 60 mph and still have a TON of pedal left...

I'm sure your boat weighs more than my TT, but my TT is a BRICK compared to your boat when considering wind resistance... I've essentially got 2 4x8 pieces of plywood standing straight up in the air compared to your boats bullet shaped front end..

My guess is you are in 2nd gear and pulling some 3500+ rpms on the hills with your 5.4.. And only going 50-55 mph... And probably have the pedal almost to the floor??

I was that way with my old F150 with the 5.4 in it towing my TT.

Night and day diff with the Eco..

Good luck with the decision!

Mitch

PS, That's an awesome boat! Got some specs on it? It probably cost more than my house!

I meant combo of white truck, white boat.

So you're 6200+1000 (gas)+1500 trailer. Knocking on the door steps of 9,000 lbs
