Look at some used prices. There is a reason the older 7.3 is worth more. I personally won't put money into a 6.0. Rather have a gasser during that run than a 6.0 diesel. I wouldn't pay someone 22k for an '03 7.3 with that many miles.

the six-oh is agood motor, IF modded correctly (EGR delete and head studs...) I don't know why everyone is so afraid of 'em expecially since they are quieter than the 7.3 and out perform it stock for stock

with that being said, I'm a 7.3 fan but wouldn't have an issue with a six-oh truck

Don't buy a 6.0 unless you are prepared to throw about 5 grand into it to make it right. Also, I think the 03's still had the old 4R100 tranny, not as durable as the 5R110. Look for a 7.3 or a V-10 gasser if you want a Super Duty.

22 grand is not that great a deal for a 10 year old truck.

But it and get the EGR deleted ASAP. Then do some research and learn how to care for it. You will LOVE that truck. Power, stability, fuel mileage, and control while towing.
