1 ton question

I'm hoping someone knows this answer. I'm getting ready to buy a one ton dually, reg cab 2wd. I'm wanting to put a 3-5 drop on it and 22's. What I need to know is, can you still pull a 5th wheel with it? Thanks!

Your biggest problem will probably be load rating on the tires. With that being said I've seen tons of shops build bodydropped dually's towing 2 or 3 car trailers. Not sure they are within the factory load ratings, but I know it's possible.

The most common 22's for a dually are 305-40R22 In that size your max load range is gonna be about 2600#'s per tire. That is a far cry factory weight ratings by each tire more than 1000#'s ea.

We have been putting a lot of 17.5, 19.5 and 22.5's on the newer trucks. Then you can run over the road truck tires. The main reason for this conversion is an increased load range and longevity that puts light truck tires to shame.

Even going to the 17.5's we are seeing people get 300,000 miles on steer tires.
Jumping into 19.5's and they don't even seem partially worn at 300,000 miles.

The downfall to jumping into OTR tires is the lack of low-pro coolness that you are going for.

Good deal, I really appreciate it. Do you have to adjust your hitch mount to be higher or will it ride fine where it is?

No way to know until you hook it up. Every trailer/truck is slightly different. Most hitches are set at different heights for different trailers.
