Firestone airbags ride like go kart

Picked up my new 2011 super-crew 2wd F-150 today with dealer installed Firestone air helper bags, the truck rides like a go kart now. Even with no air pressure. Is this right?

Correctly installed they do not effect ride at all at 5-10psi.
Dialed in at the correct pressure for the load they do not effect ride either.

If the truck rides like a tank with no air in the bags, it just rides like a tank.... bags or no bags. Unless of course they were installed incorrectly.

What do u mean by go kart? I have air lift, but mine do not affect ride at all with the 5 psi in them that is the minimum recommended. If I leave 50 psi when I unload the dirt bike and four wheeler, it does indeed ride pretty rough, but as soon as I deflate, back to normal.

They were most likely installed wrong. They shouldnt be acting up like that. Do you have some stiffer leaf springs in the rear? That could be a reason for it.

Like stated above, 5 psi or less you shouldn't be able to feel a difference. Now anything above 10 psi and no extra weight on the truck it will feel like your shocks were replaced with solid steel rods.

Called Firestone, they said to there should be 5.5" & 6.5" between the upper and lower mounting bracket. There was only 4", the dealer mounted upper bracket upside down. took it back, told them how to fix it, rides like it is supposed to now, sad.

Good follow up on your part, hard to believe they installed brackets upside down.

that's sad, the install on those kits is very simple. I don't see how it could be installed upside down lol
