Post Dealer says Huh?

Have any of you guys played the "Huh?" game with the dealer? And afterwards gotten the feeling that you are more in the "know" than they are? One of my friends decided he wanted to rent a "Bobcat" but he wanted me to tow it to his house on the Matterhorn and drop it off for him. I ask him how much does it weigh and he says something in the ball park of a house, and with the trailer included, a small village in Mexico. My next call is to the dealer to find out exactly how much can I safely tow Ford Trailer Hitch sticker aside. Well after a lot of Huh, and Well, I was told I should probably be safe if I park at the bottom of the hill. Well I guess they "probably" would have replaced my drive train too! Gotta love those exact scientifically proven answers! Needless to say I told my buddy to get the Bobcat delivered by a one-ton.

I call that the "Deer in the Headlights" look.

You know the one: you ask a question of the dealer service people and get a frozen blank smile while the eyes look terrified. Then they change the subject.

You can find tow ratings all over the internet. Check out http://www.trailerlife.com/towratings/tr_index.cfm

Ford even produces a glossy brochure that lists all the tow ratings.

The contractor that built my house had a little Bobcat with a diesel in it. It weighs in at 6000lb plus 2000lb for the trailer.
