Question Hauling ATVs

I am planning to buy a new F-150 SCrew. Does anyone haul a 4 wheel ATV in their 5.5 foot bed? Am I overlooking any potential problems in loading and hauling a 6.5 foot ATV in a 5.5 foot bed by leaving the tailgate down? thanks

There are several companies that make racks that load the ATV from the side. These mount up on the bed rails with clamp ons and allow you to laod the ATV cross ways in the bed and then take the ramps off and still put stuff under the ATV in the bed. Look into those. They are sweet.

You might also look at a bed extender (if your SCrew doesn't already have one). I know several people who haul their ATVs like this, and haven't had any problems with them. Personally, I haven't used either, as my ATV fits in the back of my truck.

Exactly! If you had one of those you wouldn't even need to leave the driveway for fun... I should think a winch would be in order.
