It's probably within 10% of today's specifications. The biggest factor would be to determine whether or not it had a 'towing-package' -- and the biggest hint would be if it had a factory-installed 2x2 hitch.
Most 4x4's have axle ratios good enough for at least 'moderate' towing (it seems that 3.55:1 is pretty standard for 4x4 F-150's).
You didn't say whether you had an auto or manual tranny -- and having a torque-converter is the singlemost important factor in heavy towing today (since it has a greater startability factor).
You can get a copy of the Y2K owner's manual from http://www.net-link.net/~n8jg/F-150/2000%20F-150%20Owner's%20Manual.pdf

It doesn't list towing capacities, but the Ford F-Series Pickup Owner's Bible lists the '94 5.8L as having 200HP @ 3800RPM and 310 ft-lbs of torque @ 2800 RPM. I think it is actually the Windsor engine.
The engines are pretty reliable, but the automatic (E4OD) transmissions were weak. Fuel economy is terrible in a 2WD, so a 4x4 X-cab w/long bed will not be pretty!

See pages 155 thru 158 from my earlier post -- gives ratings by tire size, engine, axle ratio, etc.. It's not quite as good as the official Ford Towing guide, but it's handy.
