I have a 2010 f150 XTR. I tested my 7 and 4 pin trailer connector with a multi meter to see if it works. I only get power on the brown tail lights. I then plugged in a 7 way circuit tester nothing. I unpluged the 4 pin connector under the truck that the 7 pin plugs into and tested it there and only getting tail lights (brown wire) power. Pin 1 is ground and is ok, pin 4 is the brown for tail lights. Where do I go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

 

 

I checked the fuse and quess what, gone. I just overlooked the simple things, I know, I know......stupid.......:o:o:o:o:o:o

I've never seen a 7 pin that only went around the outside and your colors are all wrong for a Ford factory wiring connector. That is not DOT RV 7 blade connector wiring or colors either. That is also NOT commercial for tractor trailers, it has 8 pins.

 

Ford trailer wires by color:
Orange or Red (depending on year)-- 12v +
Blue-- Electric Trailer Brake Feed
Brown w/ White Trace-- Marker/Running Lights
Brown w/ Green Trace-- Reverse Light
Yellow-- Left Turn/Brake Light
Green-- Right Turn/Brake Light
White-- Ground

Standard Trailer Wiring Colors: (w/ alternate colors)
Brown(green)- Running/marker Lights
Green(brown)- Right Turn/Brake
Yellow(red)- Left Turn/Brake
Blue- Electric Trailer Brakes
Red(black)- 12v+
Black or White- Ground
Orange(yellow)- Reverse

Of course there are always trailer manufacturers' that think they know better and make up their own colors. Personally, I belive that most of those guys doing that don't speak english.
