hitch question

hitch question

i have on 05 fx4 screw short bed and the oem hitch says its rated for 990lbs max tongue weight. is this correct? its right off the sticker thats on the hitch, i thought they were only good to like 880 or so?

What ever the hitch sticker has on it is correct for the hitch itself's weight ratings.

BUT,
The truck could be capable of more or less depending on the specs in the owners manual for the year, engine, trans, gear ratio etc.

well all the info i have found is the
curb weight is 5577lbs
payload is 1447lbs
gvwr 7200lbs
max towing 9200lbs
max gcwr 15000 lbs

the trailers i'm looking at the hitch weights range from 530lbs to 850lbs, what i don't know is how to figure out the hitch weight when loaded.
