need a little help

I am a newbie here...so, any help is much appreciated.

I have a 2001 F150 5.4 4x4 SuperCrew offroad package. 75,000 miles

My question is this: I am very interested in this horse trailer that weighs 6300lbs. empty. I, for the most part, will be hauling 1 horse (a good 1,000lbs) along with supplies and tack and so forth.

Is this too heavy for what I have? I cannot get a new truck and if it is too much, I will have to get a lesser trailer. I was also thinking about adding some airbags but don't want to push my truck to the limit. I will probably never trailer across the country, just to the next state over or so.

Oh: my front GAWR 3600
rear GAWR 3800

GVWR 6750

I also have an air intake system with a flowmaster.

This is really the only information that I have.

any feedback is helpful

Too much for a 1/2 ton truck to tow well, regardless of ratings.

Will it move it? Yes.... Will it work hard doing it? Yes.... Will it be a comfortable tow? Probably not.... Would I tow it around the farm with an F150? Sure... Would I take it out on the hwy at 60mph with live critters in it? No...

You'd be about #8000 loaded I'd wager and that would just not be a good combo IMO....

For only a single horse, you don't need that much horse trailer... Get a smaller one and enjoy the ride!

EDIT:
Don't look at the VIN tag to get trailer weight. It is usually not there.
The GVWR is max loaded weight NOT curb weight.
It should be listed on the title or MSO/MCO as CWT

You can get a newer slant 2 horse bumper pull with a 0-2' short wall front tack/dress.
This should be plenty of trailer for just a single horse.
Weight should be around 3000#'s
4k with the horse

If you think you need a larger trailer for just moving around other stuff get a 6x12 stock trailer and the weight should be even less without the dividers and tack area.

6300#'s for an empty horse trailer sounds like a GN 3 horse with a large front tack or a 2 horse GN with a weekender living quarter package.

As a general rule of thumb, if the trailer is a double axle and it has more than 5 lugnuts per wheel it is too big for a half ton as the capacity of both axles alone is over 7k.

Look up the axle code on the door jamb sticker.

My axle code is H9. Does that make a difference?

That's a 3.55 limited slip. That is going to be painful to tow anything over 5000# with, even with stock tires. If you have oversize tires on it, that's even worse.
