Enclosed trailer w/2003 SCrew?

I've got an 03 SCrew 4WD with the 5.4 and 3.73 rear gear and I've been towing my 3800 pound toy car (78 Trans Am) on an open trailer and would like to step up to an enclosed trailer to protect it a bit better. I've zero problem with the current setup which comes in at 5900 for the car + trailer. I figure I'll need a 22-24 foot trailer.

Has anyone done this with success (or failure). Is this a realistic goal?

Your rated towing limit is 7100#, you may bust that with an enclosed trailer. Check weights carefully when you buy the trailer. If you don't have a WD setup now, you will need one.

Can't say enough about V-nose trailers to cut wind resistance.
Also, most V-nose don't include the V-nose in the total length....meaning a 20' should be long enough with 20-24" additional in the v-nose for an internal length nose to tail about 22'.

I DO have an WD hitch now and it makes a huge difference when towing my flat bed trailer, so there's no doubt the enclosed trailer will be set up with it. I know I'll be close to the limit with the enclosed, but I haven't been able to find weights along with the specs on a lot of trailers. I don't want to have to buy a $15K trailer though just to stay within my weight limit.

My biggest concern is the wind drag and also the sway due to the high profile side. So the V nose makes that much of a difference huh? I'll definitely have to look into that. Thanks,

Does your WD setup also have antisway?

There is a provision for it, but I haven't needed it with the open trailer. I'm sure I'll use it with the enclosed trailer though. Do they eliminate the sway or just help reduce it?
