Hey I was looking for a little help here so any info specific to 07f150s would be great.......

I have an 07 f150 with tow package, I am installing (well just plugging in connectors) on an Hayes Endeavor digital brake controller and the f150 Factory pigtail has one extra wire labeled illumination. I am thinking that some models of brake controllers need an illumination wire to light up the controller........or is it for dimming of the brake controllers light at night (like your radio dims when you have your headlights on)?????? pretty sure the controller is wired up right but was just curious about the (extra) wire.

You are right it is not needed..cap it off and tuck it away.
I am not aware of any electric brake controllers that use the illumination wire.

 

Leave the tag on it so you don't have to go find it when you add on gauges.
