Class 3 Hitch question

I've just purchased a 2000 F 150 and will be making the trek from Canada to Ft. Lauderdale to pick up the truck next week. The truck does not have a class 3 hitch...which I'd like to get installed, preferably while I'm in the USA. Is there an outfit that you can recommend anywhere between Ft. Lauderdale and Buffalo that would do this...and do you have any idea on the cost for this? Also how long does an installation take? Thanks. John

Nationally u-Haul is probably the largest installer of hitches in the USA.

Price should be about $350 installed with a 4-pin flat trailer wiring harness as well.

Try and get a 1-piece hitch instead of the 3 piece bolt together hitches.

Every major town and city should have someone to install these hitches for about the price mentioned. It's not rocket science, just about anyone can do it. It is just 6 bolts and an electrical plug-in.

I don't have the infor for 2000, but all 2001+ F-150's had the 4-pin harness. My 99 F-150 had the towing package with 7-pin, so I don't know if all 97+ F-150's have the 4-pin. I also recommend U-Haul. Lots of them around the country along your way and reasonably priced. If you have tools with you, you can do it yourself in 30 minutes.
