Has anyone bought an aftermarket camera for use when backing up and hooking to a trailer? If so, what kind, where did you get it and how do you like it? Thinking about my next upgrade.

 

Shoot, I got mine at Wally World for about $99. It works fine and has shims so you can aim the camera at the trailer htich. Easy to install and works great for me.

They work ok, but you will still get in and out of your truck to make sure b.c the view is always wide screen and you cannot tell if you are over or under.

use it as a guide but use it for safety, IMHO.

Now I have a 5er, so my back up camera is me looking back and snap...done.

 

I will never have another vehicle without a reverse camera. Besides the ease of trailer hook up there is the safety factor as well. A must have for any one with small children. Mine is an Eclipse that ties into my head unit.

 

I have a WINPLUS wireless one on my truck and it works great for hooking up to the trailer.But next time I will go with a wired one I think,its hard to find a place in the cab for a clear pic.After you use it a few times and check on what you see on the sceen your hookup is fast and easy.
