Prodigy Question

I have been using a Prodigy controller for about a year now with a double axle Airstream. Works very well except for one odd thing which I am wondering is normal or not.

Just a few feet before the whole rig comes to a stop, the Prodigy will sometimes let go of the trailer brakes. Not unsafe or disconcerting by any means but gives the stop a noticeable jerk. I set it up according to the instructions but was wondering if I missed something.

If you are like most people you slightly let off the brake pedal as you come to a complete stop. This keeps you from jerking to a stop like a newbie just learing how to drive.

In the Prodigy there is an inertia sensor that feels the forward stopping momentum being supressed as you let off the brake pedal and the brake controller is trying to mimic your driving style.

If you adjust the brakes a little tighter on the trailer this jerking will be harder to detect as the let off will not be so severe.

After adjusting the trailer brakes you will need to set the brake controller to a different setting, they will now engage sooner.
