Can someone help me out with where the fuse is for the trailer wiring harness in my 97 f150?

Running light fuse is the same as the running lights for the truck. Same with the brake light fuse.
Is that what you mean?

the harness that the trailer plug plugs into got ripped off, so it has been just wires hanging there and i figured it probably shorted out the fuse over the past 2 years being like that, so i wondered if there was a fuse and where it is, or if anything else would have happened.

Well if everything else is working then I would have to say you are ok. You could always get a test light and see if you got power back there so you know if you got problems. I would just make sure there is no bare wires and tape them up.

There's a small, unmarked fuse box for the trailer stuff under your hood on the driver's side. It usually got a piece of electical / friction tape holding it shut from the factory. You have to really search your Owner's Manual to find it.
