I loaded 2400 lbs in the back of my F150 a few days ago. Handled it like a champ. Mind you the suspension setup is different that on the oid F150s... I think the new setup is actually better that the old setup. I still would love to get the HD setup for the f150 to reduce the sag in the rear end. It would help. However I think for the V6 I believe that it work ok for this type of work.

BTW, supposedly 1 yard of dirt weighs between 2500 and 3500lbs, depending on water content...

There's a lot of variables involved that determine the weight of 'dirt'. It's not like gravel or other more homogenous materials that you can be fairly accurate in determining it's weight.

I have a 2002 f-150 4.6 and had 3600lbs of steel in mine it definitely loaded it down but I have the 235 wide tire so it didn't run the fender drove about 10 miles with bumps and RR tracks and I got on it a few times for ****s and giggles it should be no problem for you

I have hauled a clay and sand mix, and also 3/4 inch stone and also road gravel in a pickup with a bed liner. The bed liner is a pain in the butt as the material fills up the groves in the bed liner and is hard to clean out..
