required gearing

I have a 94 f-150 that has had many drivetrain mods done
with beefed up springs, lift etc. with 33 inch tires. current
4.10 gears. The weight exceeds that of a full ton.

What Gear ratio should I upgrade to to handle the weight?

Thanks

4.56 maybe? I would think 4.10 would do nicely, though.

Most 1 ton truck use 4.10 gears....so you're already there. Because of the oversized tires you might look at 4.56's

Ford Super Duty E/F-250-350 van/trucks do fine with a 33" tire diameter and a 3.73-4.10 gear

The F-450-650 have/had a 5.56 option

Your load capacity is probably limited because of your tires though. Larger diameter floatation style tires usually do not have the load carrying capacity or load range to safely carry 2000lbs of bed capacity. You should be looking at a load range of "E" or larger; or load index larger than 100. Most 33" tires use a load range "C", or load index below 87.

Thank you for the reply, I was thinking of 4.88 gears, and I will have
upgrade my tires for sure, but do they have load range E and above for
33's?

I have a ford 8.8 and am having trouble finding a full float axkle kit for
it. Warn did make one, but stopped some time ago in making them.

Thanks
