It can be easily slid out of the holster/mounting bracket if you want to take it out of the vehicle, and has a power saving mode to help eliminate draw on your battery.

If you want jerk-free towing & braking, this unit is great. Also has limited lifetime warranty. I know this sounds like an advertisement, but after using this controller with 2 trailers, and speaking with many other RV'ers, it's pretty much ananymous amongst most.

Do some research on the net, and you should find a lot of positive feedback and user reviews to support this.

If this thing was 5-6 times the price of most, then it might be a bit less compelling, but it's not, and it makes no sense to skimp in my opinion.

With respect to installation....I paid $25 to have it done in my F150...wire harness was already there, and it was a pretty simple.

I'm sure Prodigy is a great controller to as mine is. I haven't owned one to tell but I due here great things about them.
Mine two does probably everything the Prodigy can due. It has the power save mode, it does break in reverse and It woks right out of the box but it also gives you more than a only one way to mount it being that it has an adjustment to offset it if you mount it like I did.
The only difference I can see is that the Prodigy can easily slid out of the holster/mounting bracket if you want to take it out of the vehicle. Mine has one screw that would have to be removed and then unpluged but that's about it. I don't have any reasone to remove mine. It stays in the truck all the time.
I think there both probably great controllers.

You've got PM! And you should have a wiring harness, if not one can be bought for about $10

Well,
I got my prodigy and it was problematic to mount the plastic holster onto the metal flange bear the brake pedal; but I did it. It came out great. When I am not towing, you don't even notice the holster in place and when I am, what a fantastic spot for it.

Thanks all for your input. I will supply pics as soon as I am able, but I am waiting to receive the Magellan unit and I will be busy mounting that on Tueday.

BTW, I soldered the ends of the Ford OEM harness to the Prodigy harness. I do not like splicing butts except in a pinch. Soldering is THE way to make certain an electical connection is failsafe.

Finally, a view from the top. I was able to get an angle of aproximately 25 degrees. While the range is from 0 degrees to 70, they recommended in between in the install manual.

I mounted mine in the little useless cubby hole under the cup holder. That little section pops right out when you give it a tug. Then took the dremel to the back side an made a bout a one inch hole so the plug would come through. Imounted it with the steel bracket versus the plastic so it would set in there flush and as far back as possible. I did grind the edges off and made smooth corners. By doing it this way you still have full use of the cup holders and plus that little pocket to me would be easier to replace versus trying to cover up holes in the dash. Plus you still have full control of the manual feature on the bottom.

I am trying to visualize what cup holders you are talking about. I have an 04 and my only cup holders are in the center console. Unless you are talking about the door on the bottom of dash near the floor shifter.

I put mine to the right and below the steering wheel...works perfect, easy to access while driving, and not "in your face":
