Need assistance wiring brake controller

I have a 2003 F-150 with tow package and recently purchased a draw-tite electric brake controller. All of the wires are accounted for except the brown wire on my harness. The service tech where I purchased the device told me it goes to a wire that powers the running lights. Is this correct and how do I know which wire this is? Thanks for any help.

The brown wire will light up your brake control, if it has lights in it.

I have NEVER see a control that has lights in it. Just tape it off.
