Question on Towing capacity

Hey all, I'm about to take the plunge in purchasing an RV. I'm running an 04 screw 4x4 F150, lariat. I've looked at the numbers and found my towing capacity (assuming the bare essentials on the truck) at 8700 lbs. I'm planning on purchasing a Crossroads Cruiser (dry weight: 6600lbs, GVWR: 8085). The trailer is about 31.5 ft long. I plan on using a prodigy brake controller and an equalizer hitch. Am I taking on more than my truck can handle? Any thoughts/insights from you experienced guys out there? I'm looking at both the weight and the trailer length. I think I'm ok but of course I'm not too experienced here.

Thanks
Tex

Keep in mind that if you are going somewhere you will probably have the truck loaded as well, unless you are taking multiple autos. Add another, say 1000lbs for people and stuff and check your number again. I would probably go a little smaller, or get a bigger truck.

Length's not an issue, it's the weight.
Good choice on the prodigy.
If you are close to max weights, you will be looking for problems. By giving it some wiggle room, it will be easier on your truck.

See if the dealer will let you hook it up and see how it sits when full.
