fifth weel + lift
fifth weel + lift
HELLO! What would be the highest lift I could put on a 2005 superduty 4x4 if I will be towing a 5th weel. Im planing on getting the fabtech 8" coilover conversion.thanks
I think that will depend on the amount of bed clearance that the 5-er that you'd be pulling has. For every 1" of lift that you add, you'll have to lower the hitch/ pin by a corresponding amount to keep the 5-er level (within reason).
Or give the trailer a lift kit too!

Well, most RV folks complain that the stock height of the F350 is too tall for "most" 5th wheels.....
As it is, most 5th wheels already have the axles mounted under the leaf springs, giving them a lift of almost 4-6" right there.... And that would be to clear a stock truck...
I've seen some that already look like they are about 3 feet off the ground as it is! Usually have three or four steps just to get into the door....
Lifting it even higher would raise the center of gravity of the truck and trailer even higher and make for an interesting ride if you encounter any winds......
Good luck!
Mitch
