I"ve run Firestone airbags for about 4 years now and they work great. Trucks these days are sprung pretty light to make the empty ride car like. The airbags do an awesomw job of helping the truck run level and prevent bottoming. My 20ft tandem axle holiday trailer has been converted to haul two quads and is pretty heavy. I also haul dirt bikes, gas, water etc. in the truck bed. I've weighed in at: 7400lbs on the truck axles, and 6200 on the on the trailer axles. workin hard but pulls fine. 97f150 4x4 5.4L.

Do you know what kit you got from firestone? I have a 99 and it should fit that too right? I emailed firestone and they didn't have a "ride-rite" kit for the truck, all they had was the "sport-rite". Do you think the system you have could be used when pulling a 27 5th wheel that weighs about 6800lbs on an extended cab 99? Thanks

Sorry it took sooo long to get back to you. The sport rite kit should work fine for that. That's what I've run for the last 5 years and they're workin great.

Air ride also makes a nice kit,I use it on my explorer and a friend uses ut on his 94 Lightning to tow his boat,He has a 31FT. Formula offshore and it sits level with the airbags.
