Hauling a slide in in a 6.5 ft. bed?

If anyone can figure out what kind of rear end my truck has and what it will haul I would appreciate suggestions on whether this truck will haul an 8 ft. slide in camper?

Yes, any and all slide-in campers that are 8' in length yet state they can be installed on an SB Pickup will work for you.

I decided to keep my slide-in from my previous truck, aftre looking at all the latest offerings.

There are some real sweet campers out there these days for sure though. heck, they want bearly $7k for the same model I have now in current year offerings.

Tailgate?

JOHNnDENVER,

Does a guy leave the tailgate on when hauling a slide in or what?

I'm not sure on an 8' camper, but on an 04 with my 6' camper at least, it would make the camper nearly impossible to get into if you did.

I can't really do it, cause in addition to the Slide-in camper I also flat tow a beast of a Jeep behind it, 7"+ of lift, 37" tires, ya know, that is the main reason I decided to keep my camper from my old truck instead. The thing is a pretty darn nice pop-up, and only weighs 1000lbs loaded. So I'm still at about 6K with Jeep and Camper, gear, ect..ect.... Oh yeah passengers too. :-)

karkfump,
How much does your 8' camper weigh?
I have a 6'9" slide-in pop-up that weighs about 1300lbs. I upgraded my leaf springs, shocks and tires. You're probably fine since you have the F250. I can leave my tailgate on, but never do, since it makes it difficult to get in the camper. The tailgate also gets in the way whe towing the boat with the camper on.

Haven't bought it yet...

HappyCamper,

I haven't bought one yet, and I haven't ever owned one, but I need to come up with one to drive from WV to Alaska every year, thus the need to make sure I don't get more than what the truck can handle.
