SYNC 3 APIMs and 4"-8" screens
Hey Guys, hope all y'all are doing well in this crazy world we find ourselves in these days.
I have a question regarding upgrading the SYNC 3, non-navigation, 4" screen to an 8" screen for wanting to add navigation, that I have not been able to find answers or info for from the upgrade threads on this website.
I've been having trouble sourcing an APIM with navigation (that is a confirmed navigation module anyway) online or in the salvage yards and it got me thinking.
Can you use an existing non-nav APIM (confirmed SYNC 3 software) with an 8" screen, dash bezel and CarPlay module and have all the features except navigation?
My thought is that you might be able to use the CarPlay apps for navigation in lieu of finding the confirmed APIM.
What do you guys think? Any ideas?
