My 17 mustang that I just bought has the sync 3 system and android auto is pre-installed. But, no apple car play. Don't know why it has one and not the other, doesn't matter anyway, as I'm an android person, and would never use either one. I find it's faster and simpler to just not use sync at all and just dial the actual phone.

Glad it worked! I really haven't played with AA much yet, but from the little I have I'm not sure that I'll use it very often as I hate having to plug my phone in. Sync works great via Bluetooth and after years of having vehicles that had crappy aftermarket BT handsfree systems it's really nice to actually be able to use it and be heard by the person on the other end.

This was promised by my dealer back in July 2016 as it was coming for sure and soon and it would be be a software update. Otherwise I would have waited for the 17's.

If they charge for the update they are thieves. At another dealership I mentioned it and they felt it would there would be a charge along with a charge to update the very out of date Nav map.

They stated they aren't the map software company... but they do charge 700 for the option.

Very disappointed with this nickel and dime attitude on 50k$ trucks.

I love my truck but I have had more honest experiences with import brands of vehicles I have owned.
