"Skipping" during bluetooth playback

I'm using a droid bionic with my 2011 F150 FX4 sync system.

I get a set of 3 "skips" every minute during playback... it's repeatable. Actually it's every 45 seconds - I timed it.

Anyone else experiencing this? It also happened with my Droid 1 - 1st gen... was told by Ford that it was the phone.

Thing is... it doesn't happen with my other car using bluetooth - it's an after market stereo JVC KW-NT3HDT. Bluetooth playback is flawless.

So no, Ford... it's not the phone.

It's because there was no sync in 2001

have you tried updating SYNC?

I fixed my reference, it's a 2011

Yes... I've had about 3 sync updates and 2 different phones since I purchased the truck and the problem has persisted.

If the phone has wifi try turning it off

Also

Try unpairing the devices and starting from scratch........

It also could be a bluetooth data buffering issue which only the sync guyz can fix.....

Also try putting your music on an usb flash drive instead of using the phone....

I've already done all that you have suggested... what I really want to know is if others are experiencing this "skipping".

I use a USB stick for music but that's got it's own problems. Usually I get deep in to my music collection then at a random time later (maybe a week) the sync system "re-discovers" the USB stick and starts over from scratch... so I lose where I was in the playback.

I think this has to do with the "programmed reset" that Ford has now openly discussed... the sync system, at least the touch screen version, goes through a reset operation every so many hours.

What a horrible design for a consumer product.

It's the wifi. Turn it off and the bluetooth streaming won't skip. To be accurate, the bluetooth is not skipping but is actually pausing. It is the phone. Happens on my droid bionic, droid X and OG droid.

Just to clarify - shutting off the wireless DID fix the problem.

It's been perfect ever since!

I have a 2012 F-150 and I experience the same skipping. I will try the wireless fix to see if it works on mine.

Confirmed

I can confirm that turning off Wifi fixed my bluetooth skipping problem with Sync and I have the Bionic as others on the thread do. Thanks for the quick solve.

Thanks for the tip. With wifi off, bluetooth streaming from my BB 9800 Torch is perfect.

Unfortunatly this doesnt seem to work for my Ipod touch. I have turned off the Wi-Fi but still skips......But it seems to be "buffering" because I can pause the Sync for a few minutes and then it will work...It is very agravating...Anyone know what I can do???
