SYNC stopped working

2011 F150
Started the truck yesterday - no icon showing that my phone was connected. Pushed the "Phone" button on the steering wheel and the "Phone" button on the dash unit - nothing.
Next step will be to pull the battery cable for 5+ minutes unless someone tells me that's a bad idea.
Thoughts?

Thanks

Hey Cal Stanley,

I'm here to help! Which SYNC system do you have in the vehicle?

Let me know; I will work my magic and get you answers.

I don't know what you mean by "Which SYNC system".
No Nav, if that helps, otherwise, how do I tell?

Cal,

That helps a lot! I'd suggest trying a master reset to resolve this issue. The instructions can be found using this link:

I hope this helps.

Won't work -
When I hit the "Aux" button, I see the word "SYNC" for just a second, then it's gone and the radio is playing.

I had that same problem before, fixed itself in about 10-15 key cycles.

Hey Cal,

Do you get the same result when the PHONE button is pressed? If so, you will need to visit your local dealership to get this issue resolved.

Hi Shaay,

Truck runniing in park - radio off -

No icon indicating my phone is connected.
PHONE button on dash - nothing
PHONE button on wheel - nothing
AUX button on dash - SYNC shows for an instant, then radio plays
MEDIA button on wheel - cycles through radio, sirius, etc, when it cycles to SYNC - SYNC shows for an instant and cycles to radio

Hi Cal,

Sounds like all of your SYNC functions are inoperable. You will need to connect with your dealership to get this issue resolved.

Keep me posted on how it goes!

Just got back from lunch - I disconnected the negative battery cable while I was eating - re-connected and everything is up and running again.
