2011 F-150 Audio Input/Sync Issues.

OK I have read through five pages and I cannot find a post with my same problem. Purchased the truck in March and everything has been fine until about a month ago.

I noticed that I couldn't play my music through my aux jack anymore. I switched to the usb port and the same problem. Its almost like the radio didn't know something was plugged in.

If I hit the AUX button, my radio switches to AM/FM. So I tried to use the SYNC function and nothing happened. I have looked at my fuse box and the 12 or 13 fuse does not seem to tie to the stereo so I'm not sure that pulling those would help. Any help would be great.

I love my "newish truck" and I want it to work correctly. Thanks for reading.

Hi, BigFarles -

I'd like to look into this further.

Does your truck have a navigation system?

I recommend performing a master reset on your system:

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...ter-reset-sync

Please note, it will restore all settings to factory defaults, but should help with the issue you're having.

I'm glad to hear, rsscoggins. Hopefully the same will work for BigFarles.

2011 FX2 Audio Input/Sync Issues.

I have the same issue. However, when I press the Aux button, the input switches to FM too fast to navigate the menus. I've tried reinstalling a fuse without success (none were bad).
I read somewhere that I need to pay $60 per year to be able to use all SYNC functions, is this correct?

Hi manueljpereda,

It sounds like you're referring to SYNC Services. You'll find more information about this optional subscription offered by Ford by following this link: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...-overview-sync

When you press the VOICE COMMAND button on the steering wheel and say PHONE are you able to access the phone menu and navigate the menus from there?

Kim, when I press the voice button on the steering wheel there is no response from sync at all. I can do without any of the services. I do want to be able to use the Bluetooth for making/receiving calls, and to listen to music. Are these two options available through SYNC only?

Thanks

The features you're referring to do not require a subscription to SYNC Services, it just sounds like your system isn't functioning as intended. The master reset is the best troubleshooting I am able to recommend for this type of issue. Since you aren't able to perform this reset, I suggest taking the truck to your dealership so they can take a look.

I've had this problem before as well. Normally if the master reset doesn't fix it, it'll start working again in 10-15 key cycles by itself.

What's happening with the SYNC in your 2011, HessFx4?
