Hey guys,

I was told that you should be able to receive text messages with Ford SYNC. I have a 2012 FX4 with the Sony Nav system and I have my HTC EVO (Sprint) setup, but don't know how to receive text messages. Can anybody help walk me through this???

I don't think there is anything you have to do --- mine automatically did it (assuming that you have connected the phone through Bluetooth). Note that not all phones are capable of sending text messages through Bluetooth/Sync.

 

For some reason only on the F150 a lot of phones cant read texts. There is suppose to be a major Sync update at the beginning of 2012, we will see. I know people with the new 12 explorer, flex and edge and the Sync works floorless.

The only issue with the 2012 Sync i've found is my Welsh accent,Sync has trouble with it, lol.
Everything else works fine so far.

 

I haven't had any luck with 3 different phones...

 

It read text messages with my droid but doesn't with my i-phone

I can't figure it out either...I have AT&T iPhone4s

 

I remember seeing this in a forum on Kenwood receivers that won't do SMS messages from iPhones:

"Problem is the iphone. The iphone like most phones, does not support the Bluetooth (MAP) Message Access Profile."

I could never get my AT&T iPhone 4S to work on the Kenwood unit for text messages either. I don't know if they are fixing that or not.
