"skipping" with bluetooth
2011 FX4 with standard sync, not sync touch.
I have a distinct problem with audio skipping or dropouts when playing over bluetooth media.
This happened with a Motorola droid v1 and now with my Motorola droid bionic.
If I enable the phone book auto update feature then the phone and sync system becomes inoperative most of the time.
Txt messaging with the droid bionic has worked exactly twice but I was unable to reply or do anything meaningful with the txt messages.
Bottom line:
anyone else have the skipping problem? what about txt msgs?

the signal i get from my phone when texts arrive as well as when i get email noctices are the same,...... should i be recieving something through the synch system when i get the email notices?
thanks
bob
Email notices... no. TXT message notices yes.
You should get notifications about the arrival of text (TXT) messages and the system should be able to read them to you.
However... it's hit and miss.
Sometimes you'll get notices, most often you won't.
If you try to reply to the text message with a canned response (as offered by sync) then it will fail.
Or so has been my experience.

I have Verizon, Samsung Galaxy S 3G (Android), and nothing but issues. Phone pairs and connects, halfway through a conversation, phone automatically goes to "privacy" mode, or phone just disconnects. However, I assume it could be something wrong with the actual Sync module, so when it goes in for an oil change, I will have them check it. Any tips?
On any Android based cell phone you have to "pair" the phone differently.
If you have already paired your phone, then consider doing a "Clean pairing." This means going to the Phone Menu, select System Settings, Bluetooth Devices, Delete Device. Select your phone, then push the OK button on steering wheel or dash to delete it. Then go to the phone, Settings, Bluetooth Settings, Connected Devices, then "delete" the phone. As an added measure, turn your truck off, raise the hood, then loosen and pull the black battery cable off the post for about a minute. Then replace it and retighten it. Close your hood and return to the truck. Turn it on. Let it run for about 5 minutes. Then turn the truck off, and open the door to make sure everything is powered down. Then restart the truck. Go to the Phone Menu, System Settings, Bluetooth Devices, Add Bluetooth Device, then push OK to begin pairing and the system will come back with a 6-digit PIN. For those of you with the LED screen on your center console, turn the tuning **** until it says Special PIN, hit OK, and it usually comes up with "0000" Then go to your phone, to the Settings, Bluetooth Settings, Add Device, when it recognizes the truck as "Sync" then tap the phone's screen and if it comes back with the keypad, enter the "0000" Then push Pair on the phone. (For those with the Touch Screen NAV system, you have to use the 6-digit PIN).
Be sure to watch, some Droids come back with a sub-menu that lets you keep the Bluetooth "Always On" -- tell it OK. The Sync system will then ask if you want to make this the Primary Phone, push OK on the steering wheel or console. Tell it OK on the 911 Assist. When it asks to Download Phonebook, now you can push OK, and OK again, and it will download.
The 6-digit PIN sometimes gets the phone confused so the Phonebook does not download completely, or at all. Using the 4-digit PIN corrects that and it seems to hold the Bluetooth signals better so it doesn't drop call or shift back into Privacy Mode.
Another thing to keep in mind is that, if you have registered on syncmyride.com, then you need to check back to see if there is a software upgrade. Switching to Privacy Mode and having the microphone not "hear you" is usually due to old software that needs to be updated. Also, about once a week, be sure to power down your phone. Then restart it. Also, check to see if the firmware on your phone is current. See my website fordtechlane.com for more info

I have a T-mobile samsung galaxy s 4g. Sync will not connect all the time, the phone book will only download 2 out of a lot on contacts. Sync's never told me I had a text message, so I will have to check on that.
I'm also having a problem with the driver's side front speaker having low volume. The dealer says this is a sync problem too and a re-flash will fix it all? We will see!!

Donuteater.... when you "paired" your phone did you use the 4-digit PIN instead of the default 6-digist PIN? I've found that if you do a "clean repair" and use the "Special PIN" when you attempt to pair a Samsung Galaxy S a gain, it will usually download the entire phone book. I don't think the Galaxy S is supported for text messaging... See my blog at fordtechlane.com for handling more issues with the phone book...
