Hey Fish,

I am in the process of blacking mine out! Like you said, it will be a lot easier because I do not have to mess with the badges, lights and running boards, like I did with my FX4. I had a body shop shoot the flares and bumpers with the same Tuxedo Black paint. Then, I bought smooth door handles all the way around and had them painted to match, as well.

Next on my list is Black Method Race Wheels and red letter General Grabbers tires.

Hmmmm....

I guess I'd have to put black next to the top of the choices.... but only because the choices are so limited, and crappy

The problems with black are 1) They only look clean for about 15 minutes after you wash them. In fact, since it takes longer to do the tires, glass, etc, they are already getting dirty, before you have finished cleaning them ! (In fairness, my Stone Green F150 is not much better)
2) Black is just too stinking common ! I mean, your taking a pretty uncommon, bad-a$$ truck, and then using a color which has been used 9 bazillion X's, on every other vehicle on the road

That's why I say, if I were going for a truck that would turn heads, I'd have to have a custom paint job put on it from day 1.

The color choices offered by all of the major truck / auto companies are downright aweful.... boring... played out..... Which I guess is what a lot of people prefer. People who want to blend / fit in with the crowd.

Awesome trucks ! Crappy finishes.

I am with you on the poor color choices!!

I would have preferred a Dark Shadow Gray Raptor with color matching flares, bumpers and door handles. I was going to wait until the 2011 model year, but then I heard they were only going to add silver with the same gray trim.

I made the mistake of stopping in at my local Ford dealer to drive a 6.2L with the Nav and backup camera just to see "how it felt" on the road. It had all the latest technology inside, plus the engine in its stock form felt way better than my 5.4 with CAI, True Duals and VMP Tunes. After one 3 mile test drive, I was sold...

The fact that I could get the Fox suspension and stock 35s with 4:10s for off road was a true bonus, plus I really like the look of the wider fenders. It is not squared off like the rest of the new F150s, which I had already decided I was not going to buy.

So far, I really like it and I think I will sell my FX4 before the end of the year.

Black would have been my first choice, had Ford not desided to mess with it and make it metalic black in stead of classic gloss black. Never been a major fan of metalic paint. I went with white. I like white as long as its not a metalic white or a cream white, and Ford did stick with a standard bright gloss white so I went with it over the metalic black. I figured since I may be going off road from time to time, that white would be easier to take care of anyway.

Yeah, I seen my first one in person the other day too. Personally, I would go blue. Then orange. I would really like to experience the dif b/w my 6.2 and the Raptors. The Raptors are just pure muscle looking. But, then again, I can't put my 9.2 Boss VXT on the Raptor. Or, 3,000 Lbs in the back.

Love the Blue Flame paint as well, but the simulated mud stickers must be destroyed! Gasoline will be over four dollars here in the N.E. by spring, so I'll continue to dream about owning this truck and ride my two wheeler to work. Fortunately, my 05 Lariat is just broken in @ 70K miles.
