O.K.Raptor owners,been out a while.CONVINCE ME!!!
Now that the Raptor has been out a while, lets get some HONEST feedback from owners.I myself would be coming from a 05 S-crew Lariat with a 6in. lift.I test drove the 6.2 and was impressed.LETS HAVE IT!
If you have the coin for gas jump on one, they are awesome. My insurance actually when down a few bucks for some reason, maybe they don't have the 6.2 in there system yet or something.
The hardest part is waiting for the aftermarket parts to catch up with the truck.

My insurance went up $200 a year, so that's nothing. Your gas bill won't be much worse than if you had a 5.4L FX4 edition F150. What do you want in a truck? Does the Raptor fit that bill? Then buy it; its an awesome truck.
my insurance company sees it like any other truck...a Lariat costs just as much fully loaded, so as far as they are concerned, its just another F150..so my insurance stayed the same.
I own the 5.4L version...i get 16mpg and have the option of using E85...got 14K miles on my truck...and i love it. do or die never owning one.

After waiting for the dust to settle and the 6.2L to be readily available, I finally ordered a black Raptor last night. I will let you know how much I like it in a couple of months.
I saw the Raptor as a way to upgrade to a new body style truck that is not so boxy. (In fact, I was not considering a new F150 until I saw the Raptor because I did not like shape of the front end or the squared off look) It has a great new engine with more HP than a Hemi and a lot of interior features that were not available when I bought my FX4. I got the 6.2L with 411 HP, Sony Nav, backup camera, no graphcis, the Fox suspension with 35" tires and 4:10 gears. This new platform is a great place to start and will save me a lot of effort when I start the next transformation project.
The engine sounds very meaty already, so no need to rush out and buy true dual exhaust. (I may still do it anyway...) The suspension is setup for 35" tires and it can be leveled with a minor tweak to the factory shocks without aftermarket parts. I have not decided if I will level it, but the option is readily available at no cost. The head lights, tail lights, running boards and badges are already blacked out, so nothing needed there. The truck has no chrome except for rear blue oval, so only minor painting needed to finish it off.
I am also considering painting the "gray" fender flairs to match the truck, but I will take it to a body shop to get it done correctly instead of doing it myself like last time.

Hard to compare the Raptor to any other truck. But let's look at it this way. You buy an FX4 with leather inerior, luxury package, heated seats, mirrors, add **** horse power, change both diff's to 4:10's, add 35 in BFG's you will be over the price of a Raptor. Then you would have to add a long travel suspension to the front and rear which costs you even more. Mind you you have NO WARRANTY now.

Oh yeah, if you keep your foot out of it all the time the milage is fine. If your worried about milage than you really wouldn't be looking at a truck anyways right? Of course my milage car is a Focus and my toy is my Raptor!!

Anyone holding out for the 4door? http://www.raptorforumz.com/showthread.php?t=8166
I'm not holding out so much for the four door but more the new color... SILVER!!!
My cousion has his eye on the four door version. But he is pretty set on it in orange. Which looks great too...
White or Orange where my top two colors until I saw the 2011 will be coming out in Silver.
Only way I would still go with the 2010 is if when the new ones roll out I could getr a sweet deal on a left over one...
Which yea I know there's not many of these that will be left behind. LOL...
