Question Any Suggestions??

I have had my truck for 2 years now. its a 98 ford f150 XLT Super Cab. Last summer i put a K&N Filter and Flowmaster exhaust. Now it's christmas time and i want something nice. i've been thinking about lowering it (maybe 3/4), and i've told my friends but they say that it's wrong to lower a 4 wheel drive truck. is this true? i would think that the 4 wheel drive would still work just as well with it lowered. although im still in H.S., i would think that they don't know alot, so any suggestions or comments would be helpful.

Thanks,
Keith G.

Just to let you know that im still in H.S. too. But, i think it is just wrong to lower a 4x4. If you wanted something to lower you should of went with a 2 wheel drive. Do they make kits for 4 wheel drives? seriously man, H.S. is all about going off road with all of your friends. If you lower that thing you can forget about that. If my truck wasnt lifted and 4 wheel drive, there would have been many partys that i would of missed that were out in the desert. I dont know what i would do without my truck. Plus, the girls love it.

Yeah my parents bought the truck..and i wasn't into any kind of cars at all then, so i didn't think too much of it..and they got it because i needed something to carry my drums around in alot. I'm a senior too, and im in Billerica 4x4 . It's so fun to go mudding and stuff but sometimes we go into the woods and thats when it gets bad..scratches everywhere and that means more work for me to get it fixed! It's too nice to get scratched up like that. it snows alot too (It's actually snowing right now) so the 4 wheel drive obviously helps, and if i had 2 wheel drive i wouldnt be going anywhere. Oh well..thanks for the feedback dude.

i dont in any sense think its wrong to lower a 4wd drive truck. I started to buy a 2500 ram with the hemi and had plans to lower it on 26's before i bought the SD . If you like the looks of a lowered vehicle go for it i would if i were you..you would have a unique truck.....4/6 drop on a 4wd with 24's or 26's would be bad *** however a 8 inchesof lift on 38.5's would be bad *** also.
I vote lower but the choice is yours.
