4" lift on SD what tires?

Hi all. I am looking to get a 4" Rancho lift with 9000x shocks and I need to pick out some wheels and tires. What size to go to is the question? I don't want the tires hanging too far outside the body, and I certainly don't want to trim anything. Everyone I have talked to says to not go any larger than 34" I'm currently have 285's and the truck has pretty good pep with them even with the 5.4l. I'm open to suggestions. I would rather not choke this drivetrain any further than I have to. I have been looking at 305's in the Procomp A/T. I don't do any off roading and would like a quiet tire. I also posted this in the Superduty section and I appreciate replies to either. Thanks

I think that you could easily fit 35s on there with a 4in lift. SDs always seem to be a little higher. You should probably stick around AT tires to keep the noise down. As far as brand goes is your decision.

I have the Jack-It leveling kit with the Bilstein shocks and 33x12.50x16.5's on American Racing type-39 Wheels on my 99 SD... they stick out a good 2 inches past the side of the wheel wells. I bought a set of flares, just haven't had time to get them painted and put on the truck yet.

You could easily fit 35's, see 305's on stock. I would say 35's or look at the new bfg 37x12.5's. If you're gonna lift it, you might as well fill out the wheel well. Just my opinion. I think the bfg's come in the all-terrain treac pattern which would be fairly quiet.
