Question ..........

Why do a lot of people go with a suspensio lift AND a body lift ? I'm just curious to what reason.

I did both lifts because I wanted to run at least a 36" tire. I couldnt fit them with only a suspension lift or just a body lift, one needs both to fit them.

Both were done on my truck because it is the cheapest lift you can get, plus I have 38's that would not fit with just the 6 inch suspension lift

I can think of two reasons:

Primarily, to get more ground clearance you need bigger tires. To fit and turn the bigger tires you need to raise the vehicle. You can do this with a suspension or body lift (or cutout your wheel wells).
Second, some suspension systems allow more articulation, thus more consistant tires staying on the ground for better traction.
Some guys just like the look (oops that threee reasons).
