I Want A Twisty Handler!!!!!!!!!!
ok, I've lowerd my truc 2/4 and put different tires on and that help a little handle the corneres, but I'm wanting something so that I can beat the L around the corners. On this one corner, my dad can hug it easitly at 65, push it up around 75 mine is pushing it to go 60-65. Would a bigger sway bar in the front and a sway bar in the rear help matters. I was also thinking about differnt shox. If anyone has done this, or talked to people about this, what do you think, will it help much, and what size sway bars should I get?
Thank's
Phillip

Hellwig front and rear "twisty handlers" ($260) and a set of Edelbrock IAS shocks ($70 each...these also help to reduce "twisty") and then you'll be able to keep up with the old man........on the corners only of course!
yeah get some sways... i went with the hotchkis performance front and rear set..to add to my Roush spring/leafs and bilstien shocks ohh yeah and those big tires too...check out my pics it will show you the diff with the front sway size ..the hotchkis front is freakin' huge!!
I wear an 11.5 D in the Nike Shox and 11D in the Vasque Sundowners and your truck should be in the same handling category, if not better than the Lightnings. Will await shipment on the shoes/boots.
Well with the set i have...try no body lean on corners...i drove it with just the front installed and i was quite impressed then put on the rear and holy crap!! didn't notice any ride issues other than the rear end is more likely to kick out when you punch it when turning from a stop..the body doesn't give any more so the tires do..

Yep, replacing the stock shocks with Edelbrocks made a dramatic reduction in body roll on my truck as well. I did the shocks at 11,000 miles, before adding a rear sway bar and urethane front bar busings.
If your '99 shocks are original, they are probably even worse than they were new. A quality pair of shocks will last a lot longer than the stockers.

And another bit of info, from Area52
Energy Suspension is coming out with urethane A-arm bushings for 97-up trucks, FINALLY!! I've had them on previous vehicles before, and they are the most amazing difference for handling short of a 2" thick sway bar
My 67 Stang would put most newer cars to shame on curvy roads. According to Energy Suspension, the bushings will be out in about two more months.,,,,,98
