tie rods are in...

replaced the outer tie rod ends on both sides this a/m.....piece of cake.done in less than an hour. put my two jaw puller on the knuckle and the bolt, tightened down and popped the knuckle at the flat spot on the side, off it came. took truck up to get alignment and was dead on with the passenger side and the driver side was off .85(caused the sterring wheel to sit at 11:30). rides like a caddillac now

hmmmm..... Good to know. With 5 years and nearly 80,000 miles, I had planned on replacing my steering linkages this summer rather than risking a failure.

What brand are those from Napa and are they greasable? That's about the price of the TRW's from work and are non-greasable.
I went to my our competition just so I could spend a little more to buy greasable balljoints last week. I bought Moog lowers for $34 each and paid $64 each for the uppers. Now I have 6 grease fittings instead of thefactory 2. I'll have 6 more when I do tie rods and u-joints.
I guess it just makes me feel warm and cozy that I can squirt a few shots of grease into each joint and maybe it will last longer.

Cool beans

What time zone you in? The 94's have been around for 8 almost 9 years. I know you menat to say 04's, jsut had to pick on ya.
I hope you have good luck with the Napa parts. I agree people do doubt the life of a quality selaed unit. I guess I follow old fasihoned thoughts somewhat because I like having the grease fitting. If I can't find a part with a grease fitting or budget will not allow it I have no problems running a sealed unit.

Your hleped pussed out on ya, huh. Your have to tell that wimp that the whole world knows now. I was always thought to grit your teeth and bare it. It's been above 90 (with lots of humidity) for the past 11 days, we finally got a break today with a high of 83 (very nice). I spent 3 hot as hell days back in July getting ready for a car show. I about killed myself doing it, it took a week to get rehydrated and loose the sun burn. So I'd say take it easy and drink plenty of fluids.
