want lift?

I do. So i have about a 4/5 lift right now thanks to 4"blocks in the back and some torsion adjusting with a 3" body and 35s. I just got some spending cash for my bday and i'm thinkin i want to lift the truck more. Only problem is i dont want to go bigger than 35s cause then i'd HAVE to regear and i dont have money for that right now. SO, what i am thinking is getting some 35" SSRs for my next set (since they tend to run a full 35" and my Yoko. MTs dont). I want to lift the truck by putting on those chevy 1 ton torsion bars but have not heard a comment on whether they were successful for who was doing it last. So whats the best way to get another 2" of lift out of the front. If i do go suspension, don't you think the 35s will look small...i like the tight fit now, it fills everything out nicely. Just a little help here guys! Thanks in advance...

You can run stock gears with 37s. I did one hell of a burnout today. You will be alright.

Oh yea dumbass, u have a 2WD and bigbadlifted has a 4WD. his 3"body is about like ur 6" suspension.

2centgeak, just wanted to show a pic of 35's in the well before body lift. your such a tough guy. ya it a 2x4 but who cares. his 3" body lift would be like my 3" body lift, so lets get that correct. im sure your truck doesnt see that much dirt anyways, so 2x4 or 4x4 doesnt mean much. it guys like you who make people not want to pitch in with pics or help.

aww, thanks for the pic R6...naw, they dont look to small on mine, but i think if i stuck something like a 6er lift on mine then with the 3" body already...that'd be 9" and only 35s...i dunno if that would look good...although yours does. i'd consider taking off the body, but then i still would be pretty much limited to 35s so i doubt i'd do that anyways. I really would love to do what 2dollarsteak did, cause i really really like that truck, but although i have heard its not that bad, i dont really like the power loss with 35s, its bearable, but not attractive by any means...so i'd prolly regear...guess we'll see...any other suggestions? Thanks for the pics and stuff tho...both of yall...

Well personally i think 9in.of lift and 35's on a 4x4 would look kinda geeky so i would definately get bigger tires! you can see in the above pic of 2dollarsteak's ride that the 37's are about the right size for his truck and he has 8 in. of lift so i probably wouldnt go under a 37 with 9in. of lift!

And just to clear up the misunderstanding on the bodylifts. a 3in. body lift on a 4x4 will be bigger than a 4x2

in my book, 3" is 3". whether its on a 4x4 or a ruler. you put 3" pucks in, it will be 3" taller-thats it. no more, no less. the 4x4 is taller to begin with. so his 3" body lift raised his truck just the same amount my 3" body lift did, the difference being the 4x4 sits taller to begin with.

Thats exactly right!
The only big difference is the stock height!

I have 6" with 35's on a 4x and they look small to me. I'm stepping to 3" body and 38's on a 16.5" rim.

think if i go with the suspension i'm gonna go RCD with some 38" baja belteds...i saw a truck today with that setup and it was godly looking. I'm still drooling.

If you are going to get 38" tires, spend the extra $$$ and get the Parnelli Jones Dirtgrips. Actually you might save money, because you can use your wheels that you have now. You will also benefit in the long run because they are smooth riding for how beefy they are. Totally surprised me, I thought Id have some vibration when coming to stops and such, but absolutely nothing!
