how to lift 4x2

i am wanting to lift my truck a little bit...but i can't afford to do a suspension kit. i was wondering if i could use the coil spring spacers in the front. or if i could get different springs and the spacers to make it a little bit higher. my dad would kill me if i jacked my brand new truck up.

well, you could always go with a body lift. theyre fairly cheap and easy to install. if not, you could get some coil spring spacers in teh front to level the truck off then just install the largest tire you can fit with no lift. just some ideas, good luck!

i bought the spring spacers at autozone today for $12. they are a thick rubber ring that goes on the bottom of the coil. they look pretty sturdy, but the ones i have seen online are a little different and are $75. does anyone know which to get. and do you think i would have to get a realignment afterwards? any idea what tires will fit on the stock 16" sport rims? prolly 285 70 16's i think.

the ones in autozone are rubber, and the ones online are polyurethane i believe (thats why theyre more expensive).

Lil Buddy, let me know if those rubber spacers do anything for you. I assume you're wanting to raise the front a little to level it out? Let me know if they work.

i had those $12 spacers under mine along with a body lift and spindle lift. They added about an inch. If I were to do it again I'd get the more expensive ones cause they looked like they were designed better and had less chance of moving or compressing and losing their lift. They didn't look like there was a chance of them coming off

Question Question regarding use of Spacers

I have a 97 F150 4X2 and just put some BFG 285/75/16 All Terrain TAs on it. It's a tight fit on the front end so I want to lift it 1 1/2 inches or so with coil spring spacers mentioned here.

Question is - will using those to lift the front that amount require an alignment?? Just got it aligned with the tire install.

Thanks for any help

Yes, you will need an alignment with 1 1/2 inches of lift.
