Steeda Drop Shackles ????
Steeda Drop Shackles ????
Thinking of getting a set to level out my truck. I am hoping it will be level and not too low. Is this something I can to in my driveway with ease? Any special tools??
Also putting on a Steeda rear sway bar at the same time. Trying to get better control of the rear in turns.
Thanks guys

Don't get the Steeda bar! It is a bad design! The mid bar mounting bolts attach to the lower mount for your shocks, and will not clear the shock head! My shocks are Edelbrock, but I think the stockers would also interfere with the bar mounting bolts.
Plus it took over 6 weeks to get my bar! Plus it hangs way below the differential, so if you ever drive on rutted dirt roads it can hang up.
IMO, avoid Steeda and get your drop shackles from a reputable company like Belltech. Easy install, but you will want a floor jack. On my truck (and I've heard some others) the stock bolts attaching the upper hangers to the frame cannot be removed without cutting, as the heads are on the frame side and there is not enough room to slide them out. I had to cut mine with a hacksaw, then replace with new (Grade 8) bolts with the nut going toward the frame side. Check yours before you jack the truck up, or else you'll be putting it back together and driving to the hardware store like I did.

hmm... I may not get anything in that case. I was only thinking of getting the steeda parts because I could get a good deal. I told myself in the beginning that I would not spend money on the truck, since it will be the wife's in a few months.
I will just wait for the mustang again, and throw money at it. Thanks for the words.

After the hassle of install and bad customer service, the Steeda bar does work. Just if I had to do it over again, I would certainly go with another brand.
BTW, the Edelbrock shocks themselves do a surpisingly good job at reducing body roll.
The 2" drop shackles do level the truck, and have the benefit of making loading a little easier as well.
I know others may have had better experiences with Steeda for truck and mustang parts, but they did me wrong and will never get another $ out of me.
