Upgrade to 4X4

OK. I know this might sound crazy, but I have a 97 2wd F150 and am considering making it a 4x4. I can't stand the idea of getting into a new truck payment. I've done similar work in the past, but not with a independent suspension 4wd setup.

I'm looking for information, advice, cost, parts required. . .

Anything to help me make a decision.

I would suggest convering your front end to straight axle weather it be 4-link or leaf type, this may not be the cheapest but it will be easier than putting in IFS running gear into your 4x2.

Convert it to a solid axle then go from there. Not hard, just time consuming.
