Question A Question about 4 wheel drive

Right now I have rear wheel drive on a 1997 Ford F-150 Lariat. However, I want to have a 4x4 package put on. The problem is that I can't find any informartion on how to do this or the costs? Would ithe package be worth it if it can be done? AND if so where can I find out how to do this and the cost to have it done?

You would be better off trading your current one in, for a 4x4. The time, effort and cost would be prohibitive.

I agree, the conversion would be a nightmare. I would also be concerned with the final quality.

I did engine swaps and some really crazy suspension mods on lots of vehicles (mustangs, Nissan Z's, trucks, dune buggies) and it was a tremendous amount of work, followed up by tweaking and repairs. We did good work, its just part of the package when you do something that radical to a vehicle.

Once its dialed in you would be fine, but getting there is a ton of time and money...

Good luck,

I would also agree. I know a guy in town that started with a 2x4 (supposedely) f-150 extened cab. Now the truck is 4x4 sitting on what looks to be at least 35" BFG-M/T's and probably 6 or 8" of lift. If it really was a 2x4 to begin with I seriously wonder how he made out on the deal considering he also had the smaller engine.
