Vibration at 55mph that sounds like a flat tire
2001 F150 XLT Supercrew 4x4, 5.4 Triton V8, 155k miles
I clipped a curb at just the right angle in December which shredded both passenger side tires and damaged both rims to the point of being unusable.
Soon afterwards I noticed a vibration that initially started at exactly 45mph, got louder the faster I went, and sounded like I had gotten a flat. No real pull, but you can feel the vibration in the steering and it feels like it's somewhere in the front. As time went in it seemed to get less noticable overall, but got worse while braking.
Also, I don't know how to describe this, but when driving on the interstate, it feels like there's some resistance...like, you let off the gas and normally you'd coast, but instead it feels like something is holding it back, slowing it down faster than you'd normally slow down just coasting.
All tires are new. Since then, I have gotten the tires rebalanced (one was actually off by 1.5 oz), replaced the sway bar links (being that old they were just hanging bolts w/ no rubber), and, given the symptoms while braking, replaced the front pass rotor and did the front brakes.
By "did" I mean not just a pad swap. I cleaned all the components and greased the caliper pins (which were dry and gunked up) and made sure they slid like they're supposed to. Checked the calipers, which are fine. Put a tiny bit of grease on the top/bottom of the pads for good measure so they slide better on the guides.
The vibration is still there, except it's more noticable within a shorter speed range: Like, it's not too noticable until around 55mph. For some stage reason it's at it's loudest at 65mph, but only when my foot is off the gas and it's decelerating naturally. If I press the gas, even just a tiny bit, the sound quiets by at least half.
Searched Google, searched the threads, lots of similar issues, but most of them talk about acceleration, not deceleration (I'm using general terms here, I searched for every synonym). Haven't found any that really match what I have going on, and none have solutions.
I'll take some video and see if my phone can pick up the sound.
**Edit: I'm traveling, so pretend you're spitballing ideas for an episode of MacGuyver. Here's what I mean by that:

- I'm running solo with diagnosis and repairs, meaning I don't have anyone where I'm at to drive so I can listen, or for me to yell at for holding the flashlight wrong.
- Don't have anywhere to work on it, so I'm having to do this stuff in O'Reilly's parking lots and car washes at night
- I don't have much money to spend.
- But I do have a toolbox and access to 7 or 8 "you pick" style salvage yards.

There is a clunk sound whenever I shift into reverse. Sounds like it's coming from the back half of the truck. That was happening before though.
Refresh my memory: With the vehicle up, which am I checking when I'm wiggling the wheel up-down versus side-to-side?
