dumb question - bump stops

2012 F-150 (leaf spring) Probably a dumb question…The original owner of my son’s pickup installed rear Firestone air shocks. Driver side has been a big headache so we’re just pulling them out.We planned to buy and install original-type bump stops, but don’t see how or where they mount. Was there originally some type of bracket? I’ve spent considerable time searching for OEM diagrams etc, but haven’t found anything specific to his make/model.Thanks in advance

glc, that's awesome, thanks a million!

I spent over an hour on Google before registering with this forum just to ask that question - ha. Really appreciate it.

Now, it's been a long day so bear with me as I continue with the dumbness... for the life of me I can't see where the bumper is supposed to bolt in up above. Maybe I need to wait for daylight and power-wash everything up there. Still, nothing looks heavy-duty enough to withstand the shock of the bumper slamming into it.
