Question Front end rattle

I have a 1999 F150 SCAB 4x4 Off Road with 46,000 miles. It is completely stock except for the front shocks. There is a terrrible rattle in the front end and I cannot locate the source. I have replaced the shocks twice (with Monroe Sensi-Trak) and the problem goes away for a week or two then comes back. When I turn to the right at slow speed (25-35 mph) I can feel a light "thumping" in the steering wheel. I have inspected all of the front end suspension pieces and nothing appears to be loose. Does anybody have a clue as to where I should be looking. The rattle is driving me nuts.

Does the rattle happen at any particular rpm range?

There is no particular RPM range at which this happens, slow, fast it does not matter. It feels like it is something in the front suspension because I can feel the rattles in the gas pedal and steering wheel. It is most audible when I am going slower because there is less wind noise. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar problem? I feel something very subtle thru the sterring wheel at speed. But it is really only noticeable when I am at a stop, and then make a left or right turn. There is definitely a gittering going on in the front wheels. I bought new tires and had the front end aligned (not the camber and other angle) and most of it went away, but it is still there, although minimized. I am about to get the Edelbrock shocks, but I don't think that is the cause.

I'll be watching this thread for sure!
