Just got her back a few hours ago and it's dark so the pictures are horrible but here she is.

I will have all the fine tuning done after my Son's T-Ball in the morning and take some better pictures. I think the front sits just a tad higher than the back but it may settle. If not I'll either lower the Torsion Bars a smidge or order bigger blocks for the rear. I also posted pictures in the chips/tuner section hope I'm not over doing it. I said I'd post pic's in both. Next is gears (4.10's) and hopefully a programer.

Thanks me too...

I just got back from the alignment shop and I got to see a few things that were not Kosher. The ABS lines were routed horrible and they were about to be sliced in half. Driver side tie rod cotter-pin was missing along with passenger side upper ball joint cotter-pin. I went right back (1pm Sunday). Front shop was closed but the back was open and they were working. Showed them what was wrong and they dropped what they were doing and fixed me up right then and there. So I'd say over all a great experience and so far the shop is holding true to their word on labor is guarantied for life. Truck rides great just need new gears now.

Truck is filthy (to cold outside to wash) but these pictures are a little better than the old ones.

Looks much cleaner than mine does after getting it stuck in a "pasture" last night

I'm glad they fixed it right away, but it would've been better to just not have very important cotters missin in the first place.

Thanks...

Yep it should have been done right the first time but spit happens. I knew enough to check things out before I really drove the truck anywhere.

Your truck isn't real dirty at all, really.

That's a pretty major goof up for people that do it every day, but they all have to hurry I suppose.

yeah she is photogenic I guess... Thanks again.

Like I said I gave them a shot knowing it was a gamble. Hopefully nothing else is wrong only time will tell. As for now in the moment, I love this thing! It's like a whole new truck. Can't wait to put the 4.10's in. Any ideas where I can get good parts?

I think you can just get them from wherever you find the best deal from a reputable company. Yukon, G2, and OEM Motorcraft are all good as far as I know.

Looks great man! And if that's dirty, you'd be mortified by the way my truck looks right now. haha. Between snow one to two times a week for the past month or so and dirt roads, mines pretty gross haha.

That's more info than I had before thanks! Summit wanted $360 for Precision front 4.10's. I found them elsewhere for $270. I also found G2 4.10's elsewhere for $251. All of these being for the front gears. I will call Summit back they said they would price match for me. (I like Summit for their name, always had good experience with them). The Rear Gears are all about the same within $20 range from each other. Summit also has a sale on the install kit. It is a complete rebuild kit for $50 down from $100. It includes everything except axle bearings. I think I'll go that route. I wasn't sure on the parts I've never done this before. I appreciate the info.

I guess I put my foot in my mouth when I complained about a "dirty" truck lol... Forgot I was talking to the 4x4 and 4x2 suspension guys who like to play in the mud lol. I like a super clean, polished, mirror, clear coat kinda clean with shiny black tires lol. Even If I play in the mud I will go strait to the hose and wash her off. OCD big time lol.

Thanks for the compliments and more so for the help. I have never done this before and had no idea about what parts to use and how much stuff should cost. This site has been a source of great info and cool people for me for years.

Well it's been a few days now and I am regretting using the shop I went to. Thankfully the shop I used for my alignment was really awesome and helped me out big time. I felt a slight shimmy so I went back to the alignment shop. They pointed out everything wrong and fixed it for me. I threw the mechanic $40 (all I had on me) for a tip and he took care of everything. Loose hardware, missing washers, just shabby shabby work. The Alignment shop even did a second alignment cause I noticed a shimmy in the truck. It was faint but it bothered me.

egh something wrong here:

and here:

missing washers:

This is after the ABS sensor BS they gave me. They routed the ABS sensors horribly and it wound up cutting one of which they spliced and wrapped it up in electrical tape. It's working for now but I'm sure it will fail sooner rather than later. It's also after I found no cotter-pins in the tie rod end and also the upper ball joint. Frustrating!

I'd go back and raise a little hell, seriously. And paint out all of the flaws and mistakes to a manager or owner. Things like that need to be addressed because they're serious safety hazards.

The shop my family uses didn't tighten my lug nuts after a rotation, and 3 of 6 were missing from my driver front wheel, (with 2 off the driver rear). That could've killed me and/or totaled my truck if I didn't look it over all the time. They did the same thing, though not as bad, to my mom's Yukon, twice, so we made sure the owner and main manager (both of whom we know from over the years) were both fully aware, and that they knew who did the work.

I couldn't agree more. Thankfully I have calmed down a tremendous amount since I had kids (3 and 20 months) because I wanted to kick someones **** like you wouldn't believe. The shop is run by a Father and his young two son's maybe 18 and 15 along with a slew of 18 year olds. I went back pointed it all out and the father was apologetic but the 18 y/o I wanted to pick up and snap in two pieces. Lesson learned and no harm done because the alignment shop was on it quick thankfully. If someone had gotten hurt I might have really snapped.

I posted this just to vent. I figure I'll let it out here so I don't hurt anyone over there lol...

At least the one that's really in charge was concerned. I'm not much older than that 18 y/o and I've never been like that. I hate how my generation is full of people like that. If I were working for my father's company and likely taking over down the road, I'd have to make sure that customer relations are taken care of and that everything is done right. They should've seen all that messed up stuff when you took it back the first time.

Forums are for venting!
